In 2018 Cass moved from Kelowna, BC to Nova Scotia to attend Dalhousie University. Cass has always had an interest in history and heritage, and so she wanted to study in an area that is rich in Canadian history. Most of her university career was focused on Indigenous history and current events, Black Nova Scotian history, Canadian and French-Canadian History, and International Development. Cass’s double-major in Canadian Studies and International Development Studies was driven by her own interests and passions in the courses. This is how she completed certificates in both Indigenous Studies and Art History + Visual Culture as well. Cass hopes that she can bring some of her interests, passions, and lessons from Dalhousie into Alderney Landing to help develop and deliver events and programming related to arts and culture in our community.
