Are you a local youth between 14-17, interested in internet or mobile technology and QR codes?
Alderney Landing invites youth, free of charge, to join local media artist Leola LeBlanc to create an on-line interactive map of the historic Geary Street Cemetery located in downtown Dartmouth. The cemetery is a historic public site founded in 1830 and contains an ancient Mi’kmaq burial ground, a family crypt, early Catholic settlers, Anglican immigrants, and the relative of a French empress.
Where: Craig Gallery in Alderney Landing
When: July 18-22 and July 25-29, 9:30 am-12noon
Why: To create an interactive on-line map of the Geary Street Cemetery and to tell the stories of those buried there
Who: You! Youth aged 14-17 with an interest in mobile technology, and GRAVEYARDS!
This online map will be used for school curriculum during the Bluenose Ghosts Festival, October 14-31
