The Colour of Courage & Remembrance Day

1606010 TCOC-11x17-proofWe all have family members and friends who remember the great wars WW1 & WW2. They all have stories of heroism and grave loss.  My Grandpa Rattray was a pilot trainer.  My neighbour growing up was a Canadian naval captain and his wife was a W.R.E.N. from Scotland. My High School friend’s Dad was in a Japanese prison Camp in China. We all have stories. We all remember gathering at our local cenotaph.

Lest We Forget

This week at Alderney Landing The Colour of Courage will be running from November 9-13. The play is written, directed and produced by Anthony Sherwood.  The story is based on accounts of his great uncle Rev. William White, who was the Chaplin of The No. 2 Construction Battalion during World War 1. Sherwood has assembled a great cast of young local actors. Nathan Simmonds, Josh Thomas, Devon Taylor, Ryan Willis and Taylor McMillen.

In this super charged social media dictated world, where Xenophobia is trying to build walls  to separate groups and nations, The Colour of Courage couldn’t have come at a better time to save the day.
