Bea MacGregor

Bea MacGregor believes in supporting people and empowering the community to thrive socially, culturally and economically. As Executive Director of Alderney Landing, Bea leads and supports a team of dynamic staff and volunteers, who share a passion for collaboratively and creatively making a difference in the community. Outside of work, Bea enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and active. She hikes, snow-shoes, skies, fishes, canoes, gardens, runs, bikes and particularly enjoys camping in the middle of nowhere!

Alderney Landing is a wonderful place because it holistically supports the development and growth of local artists, artisans, entrepreneurs and farmers in building a stronger economy for the region as a whole.

 

Laura Crouse
Office Manager

Laura Crouse brings precision, persistence and a passion for perfection to her role as Office Manager. She is goal-oriented, dedicated to follow through and carefully exhibits her commitment to the success of Alderney Landing in everything she does. When she’s not crunching numbers and holding down the fort, Laura enjoys spending time outdoors walking her dogs, boating and hiking. She also plays guitar and sings!

Lynn Foley
Facilities Coordinator

Lynn Foley is all about helping people make great things happen! In her role as Facilities Coordinator, she takes pride in serving her clients. From booking space to planning and executing all theatre event logistics Lynn lives by the motto “be kind to one another” and brings a sense of friendliness and hospitality to the work she does!  In her personal time, Lynn enjoys shopping, spending time with family and friends and
4-wheeling and riding motorcycles with her boyfriend.

Lisa Josey
Market Coordinator

Lisa Josey is a nurturer by nature, making her a natural fit in her position as Market Coordinator for the Farmers’ Market held on Saturdays and Sundays. Lisa is responsible for creating an environment that supports local farmers, artisans and entrepreneurs; enabling local businesses to grow and expand. A natural “people person”, Lisa thrives on making market goers and vendors happy and prosperous. In her spare time, Lisa likes to take her dogs to the beach, spend time working in her garden and knitting gifts for others!

What makes Alderney Landing a great place?
“The community spirit that exists here; both within the Farmers’ Market on the weekends and amongst the staff, is what makes Alderney Landing so great.  Also it’s pretty awesome that Alderney Landing is majority operated by a team of superstar women!”

 

Bob Daly
Technical Director

Bob came to Alderney as a technician in 2001, eight months after the venue opened. Two years later he joined the administration team as our Technical Director. His rich 20-year career in entertainment spans from music, lighting and film and television. His astounding ability to create a world-class production here at Alderney Landing is remarkable.

“I love the diversity of the performances that are held here. Each set-up is unique, challenging yet very rewarding. I am always amazed at the caliber of talent here in Nova Scotia and I enjoy working in a place that helps strengthen our community.”

 

Lee Cripps
Fine Arts Program Coordinator

We are very fortunate to have Lee as part of our team. A professional artist, Lee’s work is landscape, portraiture, journalism and expression. As our Fine Arts Program Coordinator, one of Lee’s various responsibilities is masterminding our wildly popular art camps for children.
As The Craig Gallery Coordinator, she’s always on the look-out for a wide range of art practices that reflect excellence and cultural diversity from professional and emerging artists or curators.

What makes Alderney Landing a great place?
“As any artist would relate, I like freedom to creatively express myself. Here at Alderney Landing, I not only do that but I also help others express themselves. Working here allows me to contribute to the arts community in a way that is meaningful.”

 

Linda LeBlanc
Box Office Manager

Linda is a quiet yet steady presence here at Alderney. Don’t let her calm nature fool you, having been here 14 years she’s one of the most recognizable people at Alderney Landing. Linda started working at the on-site the Café where she made strong connections with the regulars. Her loyalty and strong organizational skills makes her the “go-to” person on the team. Have a question? She’ll find the answer right away- we think Linda needs a clone.

“There is never a dull moment here. I like the sense that we are contributing to our community, which keeps us busy. To me, Alderney Landing is very rewarding and I’ve met wonderful people here.”

 

Robin Foley

Robin is resourceful, resilient and is always thoughtful in providing the utmost care in her work at Alderney Landing. As the person responsible for facility maintenance, Robin takes great pride in ensuring everyone at Alderney Landing benefits from a clean and safe environment. In her spare time, Robin LOVES shopping at second hand stores! Not only does she find the best purses, she also finds it rewarding to spend her money where she knows it’ll make it back to the community!

“As a non-profit organization, both the staff and clients have a strong focus on giving everyone a chance to participate in creating and experiencing the activities that happen here at Alderney Landing!”

Willy loves helping to create the heartbeat of Downtown Dartmouth's Alderney Landing through photography, video and human connection. Willy is an award winning entertainer and filmmaker. Willy has been entertaining and telling stories around the world for the last 25 years. He is host and producer of momondays Halifax. Real People Real Stories Real Inspiration. He is a true Downtown Dartmouthian and proud of it!

Lydia Babin
Graphic Designer & Online Coordinator

Lydia started off in the Box Office as a helper then becoming box office manager and creating the wonderful graphic design work that we still see today. From her desk in Cape Breton, she still continues to create graphics that bring Alderney Landing to life and manages our website. When she’s not re-sizing images or fussing with HTML, she’s enjoying outdoor activities, reading and getting her fill of Netflix.
